Carian Scudamore Selected for European Championship
A huge congratulation to our young rider Carian Scudamore on Angel who has been selected to represent Great Britain at this years European Under 18’s Championships to be held at Hoofddorp, Netherlands on 2nd to the 5th of July. This is a fantastic achievement for a rider from Area 36 and I would like to wish Carian the very best of luck.
Area Teams Competition June 6th 2009
Area 36 fielded two teams for the Area Teams Competition held at Wales and the West on Saturday 6th June with the first two teams qualifying for the Finals at SCOPE.
Each Team has one member competing in each section, 1.00m, 1.10m, 1.20m and 1.25m. The competition is run as a nation’s cup competition; with two rounds each and a jump off if teams are equal at the end of the two rounds.
Competition was good with three teams, Area 41, Area 36 B and Area 35, finishing on 0 faults and required a Jump off. With Two Teams qualifying, the 1.25m competitors where under pressure. Area 41 went first with a fast clear to set the pace. Next to go was Carian Scudamore for Area 36 B, she was also clear with a faster time, securing a place in the final. Last to go was Stevie Jenkins for Area 35, he went for it and was up on the clock until a slight disagreement before the penultimate fence lost him a couple of seconds, he pushed on though and his time was still good enough to put them into second place and a qualifying position leaving Area 36 the winners!!!
Well done to Elin Jenkins on Millstreet Sir, Phillip Griffiths on Zandican, Eurig Eynon on Can It and Carian Scudamore on Larino and good luck at the finals.
Also well done to the A team of Mary Fitzgerald, Charles Morgan and Gail Evans who didn’t have a fourth member and therefore no discount score so the pressure was on for them! They finished with just 4 faults and finished 4th, a fantastic result with only 3 members, they also won the best turned out team.
